This transfrontier park with spectacular arid and desert mountain scenery consists of rugged kloofs and high mountains.
Including the Ai-Ais Hot springs Game Park in Namibia, and the Richtersveld National Park in South Africa has a combined area of 6045 km2. Within the park you will find the world’s second largest canyon, the Fish River Canyon, with mind blowing cliffs and canyon floor more than 550, below the plateau in some places. Some of the rocks exposed through the millennia are up to 2600 million years old.
This park in the remote corner of South Africa and Namibia has three wilderness camps, few services campsites and an overnight camp for hikers – making for some spectacular hiking trails. Some of the community settlements in the area also have small rest camps for visitors.
