Located in the Northern Cape the Mokala National Park landscape is mostly rolling hills and large open plains. Being one of the youngest national parks it is a sanctuary for endangered mammals which includes the Cape Buffalo, Red Hartebeest, Sable Antelope and Roan Antelope.
Great fishing especially fly fishing, which can be done on the Riet River at Lilydale Rest Camp. The fishing spots at De Krans and Kleinbek are only accessible by 4×4 vehicles.
Day visitors can enjoy a picnic or braai at both Matopi or Kameeldoring picnic areas.
