Agulhas National Park

The Agulhas National park is located in the Agulhas Plain in the Overberg region, and forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The park stretches along the coastline between the small towns of Gans Bay and Struis Bay, including Cape Agulhas which is the southernmost tip off Africa where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean. Near Cape Agulhas you will find the Agulhas Lighthouse, second oldest lighthouse in South Africa and modelled after one of the seven wonders of the world – The Lighthouse of Alexandria also known as “Pharos of Alexandria”

This rugged stretch of coastline is the playground of the Southern Right Whale, and littered with hundreds of shipwrecks succumbed by the Cape of Storms.

Incredible sea views and numerous hiking trails makes this a favourite among the locals.
