Oukaimeden Ski Resort is one of the highest ski resorts in Morocco and also in Africa, approximately two hours drive south of the city of Marrakesh. Oukaimeden is at an elevation of 8530 feet in the mighty Atlas Mountains, one of the most popular and well established ski resorts in Morocco. January to March is the best time to visit for Skiing or snowboarding depending on the weather and snowfall.
There are 7 ski lifts and 10km of slopes suitable for beginners and intermediate. With 20 trails and runs available the slopes and winter sports area are situated on an elevation of between 8563 feet and 10722 feet in the valleys of the Toubkal National Park. Jebel Attar is the highest peak at 10689 feet which includes five runs, the longest of these being 3.2km (2 miles).
Instructors are available for beginners or people who want to improve their skiing and snowboarding skills. Equipment rental and day passes are available. There are additional activities such as hiking and tracking, excursions to authentic berber villages and an astronomic center for visitors.
