Mushroom Rock is a 3.9km lightly trafficked out and back trail located in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. The hike starts from the Glen Reenen Rest Camp and takes you to the base of the red shaded Mushroom Rock, which should take approximately an hour.
The true wonder and beauty of this rock formation is not completely apparent from up close, instead the best views are from the other side of the main road along the Ribbok Trail or Zuluhoek vehicle lookout point.
The impressive cliffs however are still worth a close up visit, and great for incorporating with your trek up to Wodehouse Peak.
