The Kranshoek Coastal Hiking Trail is a 9km, challenging but beautiful circular route. Those that are not up for the full trail, have an optional shortcut shortly after reaching the coast up to the Kranshoek viewpoint and back to the picnic spot (4km).
Starting at the top of a waterfall, winding down through the forest into a gorge following the stream through indigenous fynbos and breathtakingly beautiful coastal views. The water in the streams is safe for drinking, the dark brown colour is due to the tannis and humic acids from the leaves on the forest floor.
You would need to obtain a permit from the small office at the boom by the entrance. Self issue permit applies if no one is on duty, which will be found at the wooden box next to the office. Wild Card members get access for free.
