Fresh forest smells, massive Yellow-wood trees and small river streams await you on the beautifully designed Garden Route Trail park. Nestled in the heart of the Garden Route, between Wilderness and Knysna, in Barrington, you will find yourself riding fabulous hand built single-track mountain bike trails among the indigenous forests and freshwater ravines.
With more than 35 kms of mountain bike routes in the heart of the Garden Route including burms, fast, flowing turns and river crossings the adrenaline supply is endless, the stunning scenery is invigorating and the distant views over the Garden Route is intoxicating and will have you coming back time and time again to explore their varied levels of trails.
The Garden Route Trail Park is open from dawn till dusk and you can only buy a trail pass over the MySOS App, this is for safety and security reasons.
They also have superb runners trails that wander far into the Outeniqua mountains, over streams and traversing gorges as you can sometimes view the mountain bike action on some of the top single-tracks in the Western Cape.
There is a lovely coffee shop called the Trail Cafe at the main park office area with a pump track for the kids as well as adults. The single-track mountain bike routes are very well distinguished by levels raging from novice to expert level riders and well marked with signage – Forest Frenzy (Yellow 12km), Crazy Creek (Light Blue 12km) – to ride both, 20kms, please kick off your ride with the Yellow Trail. Mountain Mania (Pink Trail, Please note that this is no longer part of the park network and GRTP is not in a position to grant or deny access to this trail).
Visiting on week days means you might have the whole park to yourself and with their pool and showers they truly deliver up the whole experience at the Garden Route Trail Park.
