Flying through the skies at Cape Canopy Tours is one zip-line adventure you can not miss in the Western Cape.
The scenery in the Hottentots Holland Mountains outside the town of Grabouw is breathtaking and being a mere hour and a half drive from Cape Town it makes for a great day trip with plenty to see, do and taste in the Elgin Valley.
With some of the best local guides in the adventure business, the team will have you briefed, harnessed and ready to go within 30 mins. The short 4×4 safari vehicle ride to the top is already a stunning little adventure surrounded by the Western Cape’s gorgeous fynbos.
Sliding along between 13 platforms, you will be enjoying flying over waterfalls, valleys and sheer drops with the longest slide being 320m long and the highest at 130m above the gorge below your feet. A quick halfway stop with refreshments is included and the guides are super knowledgeable with info about fynbos and the local wildlife. The trip also crosses a hang bridge which they build themselves during the 18 months it took them to erect the course.
Safety is of the highest concern and the slides and operations all have international safety standards.
They have 3 “intro slides” after which you can decide to pull out if the starting slides are too high for you – but we can not recommend enough to give this full course a bash as it only gets better!
Cape Canopy Tours in the Western Cape is also part of the national group of Canopy Tours with world class zip-line courses in Tsitsikamma, Drakensberg, Magoebaskloof, Magaliesberg and more.
Known for operating in any weather, be sure that the Cape Canopy Tours only gets better, even in cold or rainy weather (speaking from personal experience!)
