Namaqua National Park is located within the semi-desert succulent Karoo region, which results in hot summers, cold winters and infrequent rainfall.
Spring brings breathtaking landscapes and the flowering of the Namaqualand daisies and wildflowers, the desolate and dry Karoo becomes a kaleidoscope of colour with fields of flowers as far as the eye can see. Not to be missed if you are ever in the region when this phenomena takes place.
This biodiverse region has the highest concentration of succulent plants out of any of the world’s arid regions, more than 1000 of the 3500 flora species cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
